When

Opening day of the fishing season on the Red Deer river usually starts on the Friday before the Victoria Day long weekend in May. Run off occurs in early June and lasts 2 weeks approximately, depending on the amount of mountain snow pack. We usually fish into late September, and wrap up when the fish begin to spawn.

The other high country rivers and streams, such as the Ram, open June 16.
